About

I'm the Director of Social Media Research at HBO and a freelance writer based in New York City. I founded and edit DowntownTraveler.com, an online magazine for city dwellers who crave arts, culture and adventure.

Areas of Specialty

During my 10+ years in the media industry, I've worked with editors, marketers and sales teams to uncover the latest consumer trends and identify business opportunities.

Whether managing research for top brands or freelance writing for indie pubs, my career has two strong threads: knowledge of the Millennial and US Latino markets, and a keen understanding of digital/social media trends.

My marketing background has given me an edge as a writer; I consistently deliver persuasive copy tailored to a client's target audience. I understand which types of content are best read and most likely to be shared socially.

Professional Experience

I have led consumer research projects spanning traditional and new media (social, digital/online, TV and print) and have worked for top-tier brands like HBO, HBO Latino, CinemaxPeople en EspaƱol and InStyle.

In 2008 I left my Research Manager job at HBO to backpack around the world for a year. I hiked in South Africa, camped in the Outback and trekked through the Colombian jungle. It was an amazing experience and set me on a new career path as a freelance writer and social media consultant.

Now back in New York City, I continue to leverage my blogging and social media skills to uncover research insights that inform marketing and strategic decisions.
